Congratulations to the following Year 9 girls who were selected for the U14 District Netball Team on Thursday:

These girls will now have a South East Wales trial on Friday 16th October at Cwmbran Stadium 2-5pm
We wish them all good luck!!!
This year's annual U16 District trial will be on Tuesday 6th October at Pontllanfraith Leisure Centre. The follwoing girls have been selected to attend the trial; Alice Shaw, Ellie Johnson, Rosie Jones, Emily Larsen, Claire Lewis, Casey Gameson, Emily Hughes, Rebecca Davies and Loren Donovan. Good luck girls!
CRICKET NEWS
This is the second Gwent Cricket Cup Final this team has made. Playing at the start of this term was due to poor weather in the summer term. The match was played at Panteg Cricket Ground against West Mon School. Having won the toss Captain Tom Baker put West Mon in to bat. They were slow to gain runs but gained good momentum towards the end of the twenty overs with a score of 126.
With a strong opening partnership of Tom Baker and Josh Morris this was an achievable score. Tom was caught out after scoring 46 and it was difficult to gain some momentum after 10 overs. Pontllanfraith were 26 runs short of the total but put up a brave display with character. Competing in the Gwent final is a huge achievement in its own right and congratualtions go to our players for doing so well.
